                                           PREFACE

The following Targets were identified as being necessary First Grade
objectives. However, they are not connected to a specific story. They are
listed as ongoing because they are commonly introduced during the first few
weeks of First Grade and will continue to be practiced throughout the year.
Ongoing Targets should be reviewed frequently as a reminder of the focus of
Teaching Targets.

*Important: Because a target is listed in a specific story and not as Ongoing
does not mean it is taught and dropped. Understand that all first grade skills
are Ongoing.
